We register your Autonomous System Number with the RIPE NCC as your sponsoring LIR and maintain it afterwards. Organizations and individuals can both hold an ASN.
The online form guides you through each step. We file your request with the RIPE NCC once our review is complete.
We prepare your RIPE NCC request from your file, including the justification and the technical details.
We handle the communication with the RIPE NCC on your behalf until your ASN is assigned.
We check your multihoming and your provider contracts or invoices against the RIPE NCC's ASN policy before we file.
Edit your AS details, abuse contact and contact e-mail from your dashboard, and we push the changes to the RIPE Database. A leased IPv6 block comes with its route6 object, RPKI ROA and LOA in the same dashboard.

We review your file once it is complete. We then prepare the justification and the technical details for the RIPE NCC. Express review (€60 one-time) puts your file in a priority queue, reviewed ahead of standard orders.
We file the request with the RIPE NCC and answer its questions on your behalf. Your ASN is typically live in 1 to 2 business days once your file is complete, RIPE NCC processing included.
The RIPE NCC assigns your ASN, and a leased IPv6 block ordered with it gets its route6 object, RPKI ROA and LOA in your portal. Documentation walks you through router configuration.
Before starting your registration, make sure you meet these requirements:
The RIPE NCC's ASN policy (ripe-679) requires a multihomed network. You need contracts with at least 2 different network providers (IP transit, colocation with BGP, or VPS with BGP session).
You need at least one IP block assigned to your organization, or you can order a /48 IPv6 block with your ASN, leased from our allocation. The same /48 can be applied for as your own PI in the same order.
You'll need to provide contracts or invoices from your network providers (datacenter, IP transit, or VPS with BGP).
You verify your identity online with a valid government-issued ID. Organizations also upload a recent registration document from their company register.

The €50 RIPE NCC fee is RIPE NCC's own per-ASN charge under its current charging scheme, passed through at cost. The service fee covers our work as your sponsoring LIR: reviewing your file, handling RIPE NCC and maintaining your records. More in the FAQ.
